About

Who made this, and why

Fill this in before launch

Everything marked in brackets below needs replacing with your own words. A page like this is not optional on a site about money and death — Google's raters are instructed to look for who stands behind the information, and an anonymous site in this category will struggle to rank no matter how good the tools are. Delete this box when you are done.

Why this exists

[Write two or three honest sentences about what put you here. If you handled a family member's estate, say so and say what year. If you built these because the existing tools were unusable, say that instead. Specific and true beats impressive — "I spent four months as executor of my father's estate and could not find a straight answer about the retirement account" is far more credible than any credential claim.]

What I am, and what I am not

[State plainly whether you hold any professional credential. If you do not, say so — it is not a weakness here, it is the reason the site sounds like a person instead of a law firm. Something like: I am not an attorney, a CPA, or a financial advisor. These tools walk the same decision trees a professional would walk with you, so you arrive at that meeting knowing which questions matter.]

Where the information comes from

Every figure on this site traces to a primary source. Inherited IRA rules and life expectancy factors come from IRS Publication 590-B and the SECURE Act as implemented in the final regulations. State probate thresholds come from state statutes and judiciary self-help materials. Where a figure comes from a single source rather than several, the page says so.

Nothing here is generated automatically or left to age. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed, and the review is a real one.

How the tools handle your information

They do not handle it. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored, or logged, there is no account to create, and there is no analytics script reading your inputs. Close the tab and it is gone.

How this site is funded

[Be specific and be first to say it. Options, adapt to what is true: This site carries no advertising. Some links to products are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission at no cost to you — those links never change what the tools calculate or what the pages recommend. I also sell a paid planning workbook, linked where it is relevant and never required.]

Disclosing this plainly is not just good manners — a site about money that hides its own business model has already told you something.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it and note the change. Rules in this area move, and a page that was right two years ago may not be right today. Email: [your@email.com]

What these tools are not

They are not legal, tax, or financial advice, and they do not know your situation. Estate rules vary by state and change regularly, and every one of them has exceptions these pages do not cover. Confirm anything that matters with a licensed professional before acting on it. The point of this site is to make that conversation shorter, better informed, and cheaper — not to replace it.
